Deoxidize your headlights for less than $5!

You know when you’ve had your car for awhile and the headlights aren’t all shiny and nice anymore? That’s called oxidation — I don’t want to explain that word. Try nifty trick to deoxidize your headlights without paying a company $70+.

Drumroll… toothpaste! From what I’ve read, it’s best to not use the gel kind. I forgot to take a photo of the toothpaste, but that’s unexciting anyway. So, here is the headlight before toothpaste:

Put about a teaspoon of toothpaste on a dry washcloth and wipe it on the headlight until it seems dry. Elbow grease is a plus. Your headlight should look something like this once the toothpaste is “dry.” Get the non-toothpastey side of your washclotch wet, and wipe of the headlight.

Viola! My car is 10 years old so I don’t think it’s possible for it to look perfect, but this is significantly better!
